August has been a very busy month for VICUSdt engineers. New orders arrived including energy efficiency assessment and retrofitting study for multipurpose cargo vessels for a European shipowner, on these ships we are analyzing the improvements that can be achieved by modifying the bow shape, propeller blades, rudder shape and by fitting a variable speed generator; the results from this study allow the shipowner to accurately evaluate the return of investment with each technology, savings, risks and advantages in order to make an investment decision.
We also keep a good track in the offshore world, with a couple more orders for optimization of offshore vessels of different types, this analysis typically include hull generation and optimization, seakeeping analysis and dynamic positioning evaluation.
