VICUSdt successfully completed a project in cooperation with ZF Italy for the retrofitting of a patrol boat with a hybrid propulsion. VICUS scope included the ship powering prediction, detailed propeller design with CFD and supply of 2 CuNiAl propellers for the 2 x 1765 kW propulsion plant. The ship was retrofitted from an old CP propulsion installation using the same shaft for the FP propeller, therefore an especial design of the hub was carried out. Sea trials confirmed the predictions on speed and cavitation performance resulting on a very efficient patrol boat for the Italian coast guard.
