On October 29th, H.J.Barreras shipyard performed the launching of the floatel ‘Reforma Pemex’, with a length of 131 meters and a breadth of 27m.
The ship has capacity for 608 passengers and 91 crew members, and is fitted with a helideck, a telescopic gangway for platforms accessibility, 2 lifting cranes and dynamic positioning system.
VICUSdt has contributed to the realization of this project with a complete hydrodynamic study, involving resistance calculations, trim analysis and streamlines and wake definition, as well as advice on the design of various appendages (skeg, nacelles, thruster tunnels, etc.). In addition, a seakeeping study was developed, and the calculations for DP capability plot were performed.
The delivery of the vessel is expected in July 2016; this ship is the second of its kind built in the shipyard, although in this case the design was done completely from their design department.
