CUSTOMER: ARMON VIGO
Related services: FEM SIMULATION
Scope of work:

  • Generate the geometry in 3D using NX program based on the data provided by the customer and the manufacturer
  • Calculation of the natural frequencies and Von Misesstresses with FEMAP program. The meshing was carried out using 1D elements (Bar) for the pillars and 2D elements (Shell) for the plates.
  • Evaluation of the frequencies obtained and check the modes close to dominant excitations.
  • Evaluation of the stress obtained in the rudderpropeller foundation.

Results:
As a result of this project, the evaluation of scantlings of the ship have been approved by the classification society. The natural frequencies of thepropeller do notoverlapwiththefrequencies of theaftship.
