Related services: CFD OPTIMIZATION, ON-BOARD MEASUREMENT, ADAPTED PROPELLERS DESIGN AND SUPPLY

Scope of work:

  • hull analysis with CFD tools
  • Bow and stern body optimization
  • Analysis and optimization of rudder configuration
  • Design and supply of a pair of fixed pitch propellers in CuNiAL
  • Assistance in sea trials

Results:

During this project, some CFD Analysis were carried out in the bow area and for the initial propulsion configuration system, including rudders. Different configurations were analyzed, this allowed us to find the optimum rpm and the diameter for the propellers, in order to select the most suitable geometry according to the design requirements demanded by the customer.

Because of the studies, it was decided to keep the original configuration in the bow in the first constructions and the selection of propellers without nozzle with 3 blades, 1400mm in diameter and 395 rpm. The propellers were manufactured at Fundivisa (belonging to the Emenasa Group), which is one of the most modern foundries in Europe and in compliance with the most important SSCC manufacturing and quality standards.

This project was the result of our collaboration with the Dutch company Berger Maritiem, our local partner for the Benelux area.

The ship has been manufactured at the Kladovo shipyard and the final assembly has been carried out at Breko Shipyard.

Main characteristics of this Dettmer tank 122 tanker:

L = 86.95m

B = 9.60m

Δ = 2467 t
